Shape the Future with Us! A rewarding opportunity awaits a skilled Mechanical Foreman at NBL Westmead Biscuits in Westmead, Durban. Your role will be to lead a large team of artisans at our high-paced manufacturing facility. This role focuses on maintaining and optimising high-speed packaging equipment, cooling tunnels, conveyor systems, and other ancillary equipment. The ideal candidate must possess strong mechanical and electrical competencies and thrive in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

Key Areas Of Impact

• Oversee the maintenance and performance of high-speed wrapping machines, conveyors, cooling tunnels, and ovens.
• Lead and manage a large team of mechanical artisans.
• Plan and execute planned shutdowns efficiently, including contractor management.
• Minimise equipment downtime and ensure quick reaction times to breakdowns.
• Provide technical problem-solving support and expert advice.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (OHS Act, GMR 2.7).
• Uphold and implement food safety and quality standards (AIB, FSSC 22000).
• Manage capital and operational maintenance budgets.
• Use computerised maintenance systems (e.g., Shopware, SAP) to schedule, monitor and report on maintenance activities.
• Support the implementation and sustainability of QMS and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

What It Takes To Succeed

Experience that set you up for success:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in a Foreman or supervisory role within FMCG/manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills
• Experience managing large teams and working under high-pressure conditions.
