Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our industrial maintenance team in Pretoria. You will install, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

This hands-on role requires reading drawings, using lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment, and adhering to safety protocols across Pretoria sites.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Machinist.
• Proven experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and workshop tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Physically fit and able to work in challenging industrial environments, often in Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery according to specifications and blueprints.
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostic checks on mechanical equipment to identify wear, defects, or potential failures.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, including lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of worn parts.
