A renowned Engineering company is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician (Parts Preparation Technician) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area.

Position Overview:
Perform incoming inspection, parts cleaning, parts preparation and coating of all mechanical components received for the production of high precision optical payloads for space borne applications.
Requirements:
Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Good English communication skills.
Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of technical drawings.
Valid driver’s license and own transport essential.
Recommendations:
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a high-precision mechanical field is preferred.
Previous experience working with mechanical component inspection and acceptance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform incoming inspection of all mechanical components received by comparing measurements to engineering drawings.
Responsible for completing incoming inspection documentation and ensuring all documentation, data, measurement reports, etc., are received and stored in the correct locations.
Responsible for performing detailed cleaning of all received mechanical parts for use in the space industry.
Responsible for assisting with masking, painting and demasking of relevant mechanical components.
Perform various meticulous part preparation procedures on mechanical and optical components.
Responsible for completing work instructions, test reports and other production documentation for all tasks performed by the employee.
Complete detailed production documentation of all measurement and process results.
Assist engineers with detailed integration of space-borne optical systems.
