Placements24 is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Trainees for a Mechanical Engineering role in Rustenburg. This entry-level program offers hands-on experience across design, analysis, testing and implementation within mining and industrial settings.

As a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, develop CAD drawings, perform calculations, and participate in site inspections and project documentation to support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• A recent graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a strong asset.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in an industrial environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
• Conduct engineering analysis, simulations, and calculations to support design decisions.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD software and other tools.
• Participate in site inspections and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and maintenance departments.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and documentation.
