Job summary

AECOM is seeking a qualified professional to join our engineering team in South Africa. The role involves developing conceptual and detailed designs, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with civil, structural and architectural disciplines.

You will interface with suppliers, conduct quality assurance, ensure safety and environmental standards, and liaise with clients. Candidates must be ECSA registered as a candidate and bring at least four years of consulting engineering

Qualifications

• Registered with ECSA as candidate.
• Minimum 4+ years’ experience within a consulting engineering environment.
• Proficient with Loadest; Carrier heat / Equal load estimating programmes; including Revit.

Responsibilities

• Developing concept and detailed designs.
• Preparation of technical documentation and reports.
• Interfacing designs with civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Use of international and local design standards and codes of practice.
• Interfacing with suppliers of mechanical equipment.
• Quality assurance (factory and site).
• Safety and environment.
• Liaison with clients and other consultants.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems using modified procedures.
• Identify discrepancies in results.
• Provide guidance to entry level engineers.
• Perform work within budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
• Independently perform primary design elements for engineering works.
