Job Title : Mechanical Engineer Reporting to : Head of Department Seniority Level : Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp) Type : Permanent Duties and Responsibilities : Oversee and manage mechanical infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery within defined scope and budget constraints.

Apply comprehensive knowledge of mining infrastructure requirements, commercial construction practices, construction contracts, and project budget / schedule management.

Define project scope and objectives in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with strategic goals.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, monitor progress, and implement necessary adjustments using appropriate project control techniques.

Lead project teams and delegate tasks effectively based on individual strengths, experience, and skill sets.

Collaborate with design engineers to review mechanical engineering designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, specifications, and regulatory standards.

Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring transparent communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Supervise construction activities and provide technical guidance to resolve engineering issues on-site.

Oversee testing and commissioning processes to ensure the proper functionality and performance of mechanical systems.

Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and quality standards, as well as applicable industry best practices.

Prepare and manage project documentation including specifications, schedules, cost estimates, progress reports, meeting agendas and minutes, and procurement plans.

Conduct technical evaluations of design options to meet project objectives, both from a technical and commercial standpoint.

Participate in the preparation of proposals, expressions of interest (EOIs), and tender submissions.

Conduct client meetings to gather project requirements and provide regular updates.

Travel to project sites or supplier locations as necessary.

Support the mentorship and development of junior engineering team members.

Engage in technical presentations to clients and collaborate with both local and international teams.
