Job summary

Kerry Kopp Consulting seeks a seasoned maintenance leader to develop and implement the company's maintenance strategy, drive asset reliability, and ensure safe, efficient equipment operation across the plant.

You will oversee budgeting, procurement, and capacity planning for shutdowns, supervise the maintenance team, coordinate with production and suppliers, and document performance and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall maintenance strategy for the company.
• Maintain current knowledge of maintenance methods and diagnostic procedures.
• Identify gaps in maintenance processes and implement improvements for reliability and cost savings.
• Plan for renewal and overhaul of assets to ensure sustainability.
• Ensure safe, efficient maintenance of equipment according to procedures and schedules.
• Provide engineering support for mechanical and electrical problems.
• Ensure equipment reliability and availability at all times.
• Assess spare needs, identify critical spares and monitor usage.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize long-term service repairs.
• Coordinate major and annual shutdown planning and resources.
• Synchronize maintenance with plant departments.
• Manage maintenance and repair requests from production, minimizing downtime and cost.
• Develop talent and succession plans for the maintenance department.
• Document records and reports on maintenance issues and improvements.
• Identify and manage contractors and suppliers with quality and policy compliance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to drive corrective actions.
• Lead improvement projects to enhance equipment and safety performance.
• Provide technical leadership on equipment standards and fault finding.
• Liaise with third parties to maintain or improve equipment standards.
• Monitor technical developments and implement improvements.
• Monitor project outcomes and ensure successful delivery.

Job description

Key responsibilities:

• 1)Develop and implement the overall maintenance strategy for the company.
• 2)Maintain current knowledge of maintenance methods and practices, including use of diagnostic equipment and procedures recommended by equipment manufacturer.
• 3)Identify gaps in the maintenance processes and implement strategies to close gaps and to improve equipment reliability, sustainability, and reduce maintenance costs.
• 4)Plan for the renewal and overhaul of assets to ensure sustainability.
• 5)Ensure the safe, efficient and accurate maintenance of equipment according to maintenance procedures, instructions and schedules.
• 6)Provides engineering support by responding to requests for mechanical and electrical problems.
• 7)Ensure equipment reliability and availability (safe and good condition at all times).
• 8)Assess spare needs, identify critical spares and place appropriate orders and monitor usage.
• 9)Effect preventive maintenance programs that will minimize service repairs in the long run, plan and maintain autonomous maintenance.
• 10)Ensure proper planning of major & annual shutdowns and resources for the same
• 11)Synchronize maintenance processes with departments in the plant.
• 12)Responsible for managing and completing all maintenance and repair requests from production in a cost effective and timely manner. This includes prompt response to breakdown to minimize down time, overtime cost and interruption of production.
• 13)Responsible for talent development and succession planning for the maintenance department
• 14)Timely documentation and records as required by the business. This includes regular reports for maintenance issues and technical reports.
• 15)Identify and manage contractors and suppliers by ensuring quality of work and compliance with all company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• 16)Ensure compliance with the requirements of health and safety legislation, standards, procedures, and practices.
• 17)Conduct regular risk assessments and audits and identify high risk areas and initiate appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• 18)Identify, evaluate, plan, implement, and manage projects to improve equipment and safety performance, reduce costs, and ensure sustainability.
• 19)Initiate, participate and implement improvement programs and initiatives.
• 20)Provide technical leadership and guidance in equipment standards, technical processes, and fault finding.
• 21)To liaise with third parties to ensure that the technical standard of the equipment is maintained or improved.
• 22)To monitor technical developments and to implement improvements.
• 23)To monitor the effectiveness of projects to determine their success.
• 24)Manage subordinates to ensure that all HR processes, policies, and procedures are followed.
• 25)Identify people related problems areas and hold corrective action meetings.
• 26)Manage conflicts within the team members.
• 27)Ensure team compliance with Safal Steel Environmental, Health, Safety, statutory and maintenance procedures and processes.
• 28)To train and develop team members to ensure a high performance and quality workmanship.
• 29)Ensure that people related costs are kept to a minimum.
• 30)To identify and recruit suitable talent that supports the overall maintenance strategy.
• 31)To motivate the team to ensure higher level of performance and to conduct regular performance reviews, and implement corrective actions

4. Budgetary responsibility:

• 1)Responsible for formulating the budget for maintenance and production and ensuring compliance to the budget.
• 2)Ensure that fixed and variable costs are monitored, reviewed and controlled as per the budgetary guidelines.

5. Procurement responsibility:

• 1)Manage a vendor base to ensure quality and quantity procurement in line with the budgets and maintaining the highest of service levels in the plant.
• 2)Overall responsible for taking procurement decisions in consultation with the Supply Chain Department
• 3)Ensure that inventory is maintained at optimum level maintenance efficiency

6. Administrative Responsibility :

• 1)Ensure compliance the company rules and regulations.
• 2)Liaise closely with the EHS and QA/compliance functions to ensure compliance with all regulatory and local requirement
• 3)Ensure adherence to Occupational and Environmental Safety Health Administration standards
