Our client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical Designer to join their dynamic, growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the overall project delivery in accordance with Company, Client and industry requirements. This position is based in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce high quality, cost effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings and in general, work under the supervision of the Principal Designer, Project Lead Designer, Lead Discipline Design Engineer or the Project Lead Engineer.
- Be proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably Aecosim or Triforma) and to use those skills within the client’s defined CAD procedures.
- Be proficient in the detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.
- Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to the client’s drawing office and CAD procedures.
- Demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:- Proficiency in 3D Microstation software.
- An accredited qualification in Engineering Design Drafting or equivalent
- Proficiency in 3D Triforma or Aecosim Software.
- Working experience with ProjectWise online file storage software.
- 5+ years in relevant Discipline Plant Design process plant design.
