Placements24 in Mpumalanga is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end design of custom industrial machinery in a high-uptime manufacturing environment. You will work with a team of engineers to develop robust mechanical solutions, oversee from concept through testing, and support production during commissioning.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in machinery design, and strong CAD/FEA skills with hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial machinery or automation equipment design
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS or similar

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom industrial machinery and equipment using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Perform stress and motion analyses to validate designs and ensure reliability.
• Specify materials, components and manufacturing processes for machinery.

Key Responsibilities
