Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design mechanical components and packaging machinery for FMCG production lines, create 3D models and detailed drawings, and work with production, QA, and R&D to ensure reliable operation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 2–4 years in design, and is proficient with SolidWorks or Inventor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2–4 years of mechanical design experience.
Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor).
Experience with packaging machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery for FMCG production lines.
Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to packaging and processing equipment.
Modify and upgrade existing machinery to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Conduct performance testing and validation of new and modified designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with production processes.
Research and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
