Job summary

Our client, a specialist water treatment solutions company based in the Eastern Suburbs of the Western Cape, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical design and drafting experience. The successful candidate will produce high-quality drawings and documentation while supporting projects from concept through to installation and handover.

The role covers mechanical design for water treatment plants, P&ID development, GA and fabrication drawings, 3D modelling, BOMs, and site

Qualifications

• BEng / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• 3-8 years' experience in mechanical design.
• Strong AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with Inventor or SolidWorks (preferred).
• Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
• Good understanding of piping systems, valves, pumps and process equipment.
• Ability to interpret and produce P&IDs.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to site when required.

About the Role

Our client, a specialist water treatment solutions company based in the Eastern Suburbs of the Western Cape, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical design and drafting experience, ideally gained within the water treatment, process, mining, or broader industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering drawings and documentation, while supporting projects throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
