Job description
PROJECT ENGINEER (Mechanical-, Chemical-, Civil or Electrical Engineer)

We have a vacancy in Bryanston, Sandton with a major player in the water industry.

This position pays between R60k – R120k, depending on experience.

We undertake all major disciplines (Civil, Mech and Elec) and at present are recruiting for project management and engineering staff, roles typically filled by mechanical engineering staff.

We are on a recruitment drive to meet a growing order book and plans to expand.

We are looking for a candidate that meets the below broad requirements:

  • Mech / Civil Eng, from either Technikon or University, though we would consider the other disciplines if they have project management experience of a similar nature to ours.
  • Years experience – 3-5 would be preferred as a minimum. A candidate that holds professional registration would be well placed.
  • Experience in the broader water and wastewater sector is preferred but if they have experience in projects in industries that at least use similar equipment (pumps, piping, motors, valves etc) we would consider same. Most of our work is state infrastructure work for the major utilities, but not all.
  • Exposure to any of the standard contract model suites such as GCC, FIDIC, NEC etc would also be beneficial.
  • The roles range from doing conventional project engineering inside of a contract such as technical procurement, system basic design (pump station layouts etc), subcontractor management through to overall schedule and commercial and contractual management of projects, technical guidance etc as the position becomes more senior.
  • Remuneration – we will consider each candidate on merit.
