Job summary

Infrastructure News is seeking a Mechanical BIM Modeler - Building Services to draught HVAC, WETS and Fire systems using Revit MEP and AutoCAD. The role involves creating detailed drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts, and developing Revit families and templates.

Responsibilities

• Draughting mechanical services (HVAC, WETS and Fire) in Revit & AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.
• Set up, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, and standards.
• Extract quantities and assist in cost estimation where required.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
• Review and validate models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Guide and support draughting team in the office.
• Technical support to Senior Project Managers & Project Directors.
• Site inspections and compiling of snag lists related to mechanical services.

• Job title: Mechanical BIM Modeler - Building Services
• Draughting mechanical services (HVAC, WETS and Fire) in Revit & AutoCAD
• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.
• Set up, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, and standards.

• Min 5-7 years relevant industry related experience
• Exposure to HVAC load calculation software such as Carrier HAP will be advantageous
• Experience in BIM Modelling, Revit MEP and AutoCAD
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10400- "O & T" standards and local compliance requirements
• Proven ability to create and manage Revit families and parametric components
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Must be proficient in MS Office packages
• Must have worked with Mechanical Building Services, HVAC, WETS and Fire
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Technical understanding of how MEP Services work
• Strong teamwork skills required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of statutory standards and regulations
• Willing to relocate to Pretoria - Gauteng
