Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Artisan (HVAC)

Life Mount Edgecombe Hospital is seeking a Mechanical Artisan (HVAC) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for ensuring continuous mechanical services for the hospital infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair air conditioning units, air-handling units, heat pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, autoclaves, kitchen equipment, gas installations, hot and cold-water reticulation, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Operate independently within a service environment.
  • Complete daily job cards accurately and provide feedback.
  • Manage stock and inventory control.
  • Follow safe working practices in accordance with the OHS Act and risk management procedures.
  • Participate in after-hours standby and call-out duties.
  • Assist with related ad-hoc functions as requested by management.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least N5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, a Trade Test certificate, and a minimum of 3 years of engineering maintenance experience.
  • Practical experience in a hospital or similar environment is essential.
  • Computer literacy, with experience in a CMMS system such as SAP PM, is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
