Key Outputs
- Ability to perform planned and breakdown repairs (disassemble, inspect, and assemble) Caterpillar Earthmoving Engine components to supplier standards and customer requirements.
- Ensure reusability of parts during inspection.
- Diagnose engine systems quickly and efficiently, carrying out repairs.
- Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports, including Engine Inspection Reports (MIRs) and Technical Analysis Reports (TAs).
- Maintain a professional image when representing BWE.
- Ensure safe work practices.
- Control contamination.
- Manage own administrative tasks (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses, etc.).
- Consistently maintain quality and productivity standards in own work.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
- Qualified in a relevant trade (e.g., Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic/Fitter).
- 3 to 5 years of trade experience in component repair processes.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in engine requirements for Cat series engines.
- Component-specific technical knowledge and skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
- Basic technical report writing skills.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Failure analysis skills.
- Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies, and procedures.
- Adheres to quality processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy (use of tablets, apps, Outlook, Microsoft Office, STW, and ET).
- Valid driver's license.
- Team player.
- Punctual.
