Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available in our Maintenance department for a Sewing Machine Mechanic.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain a range of industrial sewing machines and allied sewing equipment
  • Set up and test run a range of industrial sewing machines and allied sewing equipment
  • Keep maintenance records and update maintenance reports
  • Conduct running maintenance
  • Assist and coach learner mechanics
  • Maintain and collect technical data for machinery and equipment
  • Adhere to and manage preventative maintenance programs on minor and major tasks
  • Perform folder repair
  • Assist with other tasks within the maintenance department
Requirements
  • Approximately 3-4 years’ experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance in a clothing production environment
  • NQF4 Qualification in repairs and maintenance of sewing machines or equivalent (advantageous)
  • Ability to work in a team and additional hours as requested
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English
  • Target-driven with a quick turnaround approach
