Job summary

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) South Africa invites a Math Analyst I to join our on-site Midrand team. You will write programs and analyses to model game features, parse large data for testing, and interpret RNG results to support casino gaming.

You’ll review code, document findings, and collaborate with clients and the Math Department to ensure quality. Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree, have strong probability knowledge, and are proficient in C++ and Excel, with the ability to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Associate degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics.
  • C++ programming experience and OO design knowledge.
  • Understanding of core programming concepts and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills with team and external contacts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Attention to quality, detail, and accuracy.
  • Able to pass a thorough background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Write programs and analyses to calculate mathematical features of games.
  • Parse or reorganize large data files into testing formats.
  • Conduct and interpret statistical tests on simulations and RNG data.
  • Read and interpret jurisdictional requirements.
  • Modify and review programs and analyses to meet testing needs.
  • Review, understand, and document source code in various languages.
  • Write project reports summarizing testing results.
  • Communicate with external clients and team members professionally.

The Math Analyst’s main focus will be on the following:

Testing and Math Analysis
  • Writing programs and performing other analyses to calculate needed mathematical features of games.
  • Writing programs or scripts to manipulate, parse or reorganize large data files into standard formats for testing.
  • Conducting and interpreting statistical testing on game simulation results and on RNG data.
  • Reading and interpreting jurisdictional requirements, consulting appropriately for interpretation.
Reviewing and Documenting
  • Reading and modifying programs and analyses developed by others to meet testing needs.
  • Reviewing, understanding, and documenting source code written in various languages.
  • Writing project reports by summarizing the testing conducted and the results.
  • Carefully reviewing analysis work conducted by others for accuracy.
Communicating Externally and Internally
  • Working with external clients, communicating professionally and courteously on topics of a technical nature
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with other members of the Math Department and other employees
Experience, Education, Skills And Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
  • Associate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or 2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered; Certification, formal training, or experience may also be evaluated and considered in lieu of educational requirements
  • Must have knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics
  • Knowledge of a modern, object-oriented programming language such as C++, including appropriate use of object-oriented design is required
  • Must have an understanding of core programming concepts and techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members of the team and external contacts
  • Ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines is required
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation
Location:

On-site in our Midrand office

Schedule:

Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
