Job Description: Master's Program Position at Sky Ranch

The Master's Program is a 21-month graduate degree program, beginning annually during the 3rd week of August, and completed upon fulfilling the coursework requirements through Dallas Baptist University (DBU) and Sky Ranch's program standards. This position is vital to Sky Ranch's ministry, contributing directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ.

Upon completion, students will earn a fully paid graduate degree from DBU in an accredited Ministry Degree program. The program also provides food/meals and assigned housing for the duration.

This role supports individuals in continuing their education while being a full-time Sky Ranch employee. Participants are trained across various ministry areas within Sky Ranch to ensure an excellent and safe guest experience. They work full-time in different camp areas, including instructing in our School Programs department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (August - May):
  1. Work within the Outdoor Education department, teaching classes five days a week.
  2. Assist with food service and retreats, including working in the dining hall, setting up meeting rooms, facilitating activities, and guest check-in/out.
  3. Support retreat coordinators with security, gate radio, and urgent guest needs as required.
  4. Participate in fundraising and marketing events outside of weekly schedules.
  5. Up to two weekends per year, participate in community groups and meet quarterly with the Fellowship/Master's Manager.
  6. Attend a local church regularly and seek opportunities to serve.
Summer Months (Mid-May - Mid-August):
  1. Support various Sky Ranch ministries at assigned sites, including Day Camp, Summer Camp Van, Cave Springs, or Ute Trail Summer Camp at Horn Creek.
  2. Summer 2 is optional based on Sky Ranch needs and student interests.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain satisfactory academic standards.
  • Comply with Sky Ranch policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Preferably, experience in camp ministry or Christian ministry (minimum one summer or year).
  • Personal spiritual discipline and leadership interest are essential.
  • Knowledge of excellent customer service principles.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Independent thinking, confidentiality, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to relate positively to diverse groups and facilitate meetings or retreats.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel and work in various environments, including outdoor settings.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and agility for camp activities.
  • Work involves indoor office and outdoor environments, with seasonal weather exposure.
