Reporting to the Marketplace Operations Manager

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Solve ambiguous problems with less well-defined inputs and outputs; drive to the heart of the problem and identify root causes.
  • Identify, develop and execute data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunities.
  • Learn and understand the broad range of Takealot data resources and develop knowledge of how, when and which data sources to use.
  • Deep dive into massive data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, MS Excel and data analytics tools.
  • Build new KNIME workflows, and reports/dashboards to enable emerging business use cases.
  • Validating the data to ensure accuracy in the output, generating descriptive statistics and extracting insights.
  • Prototyping of data analytics tools to support marketplace teams.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering or Operations Research.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in Analytics.
  • Experience in working with databases and SQL in a business environment.
  • Prior experience in design and execution of analytical projects.
  • Knowledge of machine learning models such as decision trees, regression and deep learning etc. to be able to work with machine learning engineers is advantageous.
