Marketing / Pr Executive, Cape Town

My client is a world-class retailer in the tourism industry seeking a Marketing / PR Executive to be responsible for public relations, customer liaison, network marketing, etc.

Candidates must possess:

1. Excellent communication skills
2. Attention to detail
3. Initiative
4. Creativity
5. Proactivity with PR / marketing experience

Key responsibilities include:

1. Greeting foreign tourists
2. Conducting in-house diamond educational talks
3. Admin tasks
4. Assisting on the sales floor

Minimum requirements:

1. Proven experience in marketing luxury goods (preference will be given to jewellery industry)
2. Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
6. Proficient in marketing software and tools
7. Linguistic requirement: English and Afrikaans (Mandarin advantageous)
8. Valid driver's license and own reliable transport

You will be required to perform the following duties:

1. Conduct market research to identify trends and target customer demographics
2. Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns
3. Manage social media accounts and create engaging content
4. Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing strategies with sales goals
5. Analyse marketing data and generate performance reports
6. Co-ordinate with designers for promotional material
7. Plan and execute events and exhibitions
8. Monitor and evaluate competitor activities

Additional Information:

1. Work Environment: Extensive travel for industry events and client meetings
2. Reporting Structure: Reports directly to General Manager
3. Salary: Market related
4. Location: Cape Town CBD
5. Employment Type: Full time / Permanent
6. Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:00 (Mon – Fri) / 1 Saturday every 3 weeks
