Job description

Manage and direct formal annual category, brand, and product plans to achieve financial growth and profitability / GP.

Create, plan, manage, and execute campaigns to meet category and brand objectives.

Oversee New Product Development initiatives.

Drive research and monitor market trends and competitor strategies.

Identify and introduce innovative ingredients, packaging, technologies, products, concepts, and ideas that are commercially viable.

Ensure efficient stock planning and movement in collaboration with Procurement and Operations.

Manage and guide annual growth targets and forecasts by brand and SKU.

Ensure sufficient promotional activities and innovation to drive required stock turnover.

Ensure stock is cleared prior to aging or expiry.

Manage product costing effectively within purchasing and packaging parameters, and collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers through negotiation and communication.

Maintain supplier relationships concerning agreements, processes, and business requirements.

Ensure all products are legal, compliant, and suitable for exports and CAMS, focusing on labels and ingredients.

Lead project management efforts.

Lead, manage, and develop team members within the department.

Improve and implement efficient systems and processes.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Strategic approach and creative problem-solving skills.

A post Grade 12 qualification (Degree or equivalent) is required; RPL will be considered.

Proven track record of at least 5 years in a similar role.

Strong negotiating, organizational, and time management skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to coach, manage, and develop people.

Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people in a customer-oriented, friendly manner.

Ability to work independently.

Strong computer skills, including Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP systems.
