R oles and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Identifying opportunities for growth i.e., brands and companies.
  • Developing and implementing brand plans that are aligned to global brand strategies and local market dynamics taking cognizance of each country’s specific market and customer intelligence and market analysis of the beverage as well as alcoholic beverage insights.
  • Building brand engagement and innovation that are aligned to the regional strategy including brand and price positioning.
  • Developing pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Using sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends
  • Initiating market research studies and analyzing their findings.
  • Consulting with buying personnel to gain advice regarding the types of products or services expected to be in demand.
  • Accountable for brand innovation
  • Driving on-going product brand innovation and continuous growth within the portfolio.
  • Evaluating the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, or return on investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Activating the market with an appropriate mix of marketing support programmes.
  • Continuously monitoring and measuring brand performance, taking corrective actions to improve where necessary.
  • Working closely with the Sales teams to provide and implement solutions to challenges / opportunities in key markets
  • Developing and managing the advertising and planning budget and marketing assets and inventory
  • Identifying, developing, or evaluating marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and mark-up factors
  • Formulating, directing, or coordinating marketing activities or policies to promote products or services, working with advertising or promotion managers
  • Compiling lists describing product or service offerings
  • Consulting with product development personnel on product specifications such as design, colour, or packaging
  • Conferring with legal teams to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement or royalty sharing with outside producers or distributors
  • Responsible for the oversight of the sourcing, developing and application of in-market trends and insights
  • Accurately forecasting sales
  • Responsible for leading the marketing team in an effective way

Requirements include:

  • A relevant Marketing qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing management experience in a lead role in FMCG
  • Africa market specific understanding and background (advantageous)
  • Agency procedures and the successful management experience
  • Working knowledge of the NPD (New Product Development) process experience
  • Knowledge and experience in activating within the country market experience
