Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, implement, and manage the overall annual marketing and communication strategy.
- Coordinate across all departments to develop and implement the company-wide marketing and communication plan.
- Evaluate communication mediums and manage strategic partner relationships across departments, stakeholders, and external suppliers to create awareness, educate consumers/collectors, and support resellers/dealers in demand creation.
- Stay informed about market, dealer, and consumer behavior to generate relevant insights.
- Develop, guide, mentor, and lead the team to meet strategic objectives; develop individuals to deliver on business goals.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through communication and collaboration to ensure effective service delivery within business clusters.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Plan and execute projects within budget, ensuring they meet business objectives and adhere to governance structures and timelines.
- Participate in quality initiatives and address non-conformance issues.
- Organize and coordinate resources to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop communication structures and relay work requirements and information to team members.
- Manage and coordinate marketing and creative staff; lead market research to assess marketing ROI.
- Collaborate with media organizations and advertising agencies; brainstorm new campaigns across online, social media, and traditional media.
- Provide leadership by defining objectives for the department.
- Coordinate with sales and other departments to produce effective strategies.
- Monitor ongoing campaigns and ensure deadlines are met.
- Implement workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, and employee relations processes.
- Manage the work environment to boost staff morale and productivity.
- Design and review operational and organizational structures in collaboration with HR.
- Develop budgets aligned with business needs; monitor expenses to stay within budget.
- Maximize marketing ROI and ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance, and risk management.
- Seek cost-saving opportunities and ensure safety and health regulations are followed.
- Address customer and supplier concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (POPI, FICA, ASA, Communications Act, etc.) and environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Maintain and update work processes to align with policies and compliance requirements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies; act on audit findings and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in secondments or rotations within the organization as part of development plans.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (3 years) in a relevant field is essential.
- Registration with MASA (Marketing Association of South Africa) is advantageous.
- Experience across various industries demonstrating leadership, communication, and strategic alignment of creative direction.
- Deep understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; creative and innovative thinking.
- Knowledge of current trends, methodologies, and technologies in web and social media metrics.
- Proven budget management skills with strong governance and compliance understanding.
