Job description

Position Summary:

Excellerate Brand Management (EBM) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing Manager to lead the marketing efforts for a Cape Town Centre. Based on-site, this role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive foot traffic, enhance customer engagement, and support tenant success. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager, the Marketing Manager will play a key role in shaping the shopping centre’s brand identity and ensuring its market leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Planning

    • Implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive traffic, sales, and brand awareness for the shopping centre.
    • Develop annual marketing plans, budgets, and promotional calendars, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
    • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform marketing initiatives and identify new opportunities.

Brand Management & Positioning

    • Oversee the development and execution of campaigns that promote the shopping centre’s brand, positioning it as a premier retail and lifestyle destination.
    • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels, including digital, print, OOH, broadcast, social media, and on-site activations.

Digital & Social Media Marketing

    • Lead digital marketing efforts, including website management, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
    • Utilise data analytics to measure campaign performance, optimise marketing efforts, and report on ROI.

Event Management & Community Engagement

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute a range of on-site events and promotional activities that enhance the customer experience and build community connections.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, community organisations, and media partners to drive engagement and collaboration.

Tenant Relations & Support

    • Work closely with tenants to understand their business needs, provide marketing support, and develop joint marketing initiatives.
    • Communicate regularly with tenants to ensure they are informed about marketing activities, events, and promotional opportunities.

Budgeting & Reporting

    • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring all campaigns and activities are delivered within budget while achieving desired outcomes.
    • Provide regular reports to the Portfolio Manager on marketing performance, including traffic trends, sales data, and campaign effectiveness.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within the retail, shopping centre, or commercial real estate industry.

Experience:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, work collaboratively with stakeholders, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with tenants, partners, and community members.
