As a proud fixture of LGBTQ+ culture in South Africa, Babylon The Joburg Bar is more than a club — it's a sanctuary, a show, and a celebration.

We are now looking for a Marketing Manager to help elevate our brand, increase foot traffic, and supercharge our social media and event presence.The Role : We're on the hunt for a driven, creative, and highly organized Marketing Manager who can lead our promotional strategy and team.

You'll report directly to the club owner and work closely with the General and Shift Managers, social media staff, graphic designers, and talent partners to deliver consistent, sexy, and unforgettable campaigns.Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement monthly marketing plans aligned with the club's strategic goals
• Define, track, and report on marketing KPIs (event attendance, reach, engagement, ROI)
• Work with the club owner on strategic direction and campaign performance
• Oversee daily content scheduling, posting, and optimization across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
• Work with the in-house team and influencers to create captivating content
• Stay ahead of platform updates and trends to keep Babylon at the top of the feed
• Collaborate with drag talent, DJs, performers, and special guests
• Liaise with sponsors and vendors to set up activations and promotions
• Assist in planning and enforcing event budgets, in partnership with ownership
• Coordinate with graphic designers on weekly and monthly event materials (posters, menus, stories, ads)
• Maintain visual brand identity across all platforms and printed media
• Ensure deadlines are met for content rollout and promotional materials
• Organize weekly marketing team check-ins and strategy sessions with the owner
• Coordinate with technical staff, general staff, and management for campaign rollout
• Maintain structured workflows using platforms like Trello or Google CalendarWhat We're Looking For : This role is best suited for a fast learner with strong initiative who can hit the ground running in a dynamic, high-energy environment.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives under pressure, quickly absorbs new information, and confidently takes ownership of projects with minimal handholding.

Adaptability, drive, and the ability to lead are essential.

• BCom / Diploma in Marketing or Related Certification
• 2+ years in a marketing, brand, or event management role (nightlife or entertainment preferred)
• Experience working in or with LGBTQ+ spaces or understanding of queer cultural nuance
• Social media savvy with a strong aesthetic sense and trend awareness
• Skilled in campaign planning, budgeting, and performance analysis
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — cool under pressure, quick on your feet
• Availability for flexible working hours, particularly evenings and weekends for eventsBonus Points For :
• Background in nightlife or hospitality marketing
• Existing network in Gauteng's queer influencer or creative scene
• Familiarity with platforms like Meta Ads Manager, Canva, Trello, or Google Workspace
