My client, a leading Retailer based in Montague Gardens wants to reward a competent Marketing Coordinator with an exciting career opportunity.
Purpose of the Job
To support the seamless execution of marketing initiatives and operational activities by coordinating campaigns, maintaining communication between departments, ensuring brand consistency, and driving the efficiency of daily retail operations.
The role acts as a key link between the marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure that all promotional and operational plans are effectively implemented and aligned with business goals.
Requirements
2–4 years in a Marketing Coordination, Operations, or Project Support role
Experience in Retail, FMCG, or service-based industries preferred
Marketing or Business Administration Diploma or Degree (advantageous)
Exposure to CRM, loyalty, or customer engagement strategies is a plus.
Valid Drivers licence.
SA Citizens only
Must be Criminal Clear
Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Strong Excel skills (formulas, data cleaning, tracking templates)
Excellent PowerPoint skills — clean, professional reporting and presentations
High attention to detail and task management
Good written and verbal communicator (email, WhatsApp, meeting notes)
Ability to analyse trends and extract insights from campaign data
Comfortable coordinating internal stakeholders and suppliers
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel occasionally to stores or activations
Duties
Campaign briefing & execution
Coordination
Assist the Marketing Manager with compiling detailed monthly campaign briefs for creative, media, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure campaigns are supported with correct promotional mechanics, artwork versions, pricing validation, and clear roll-out timelines.
Distribute marketing collateral and WhatsApp folder updates to stores and teams.
Budget Tracking & Supplier Reconciliation
Track campaign budgets monthly and monitor store-level promotional spend allocation.
Record and reconcile all supplier contributions per campaign, ensuring reporting accuracy.
Work with the Marketing Manager and finance to flag spend variances and prepare reconciliation summaries.
Leaflet Distribution Management
Manage the administrative process of monthly leaflet production and distribution, including versioning for stores, print run quantities, and logistics.
Coordinate delivery schedules with couriers and ensure POS displays are up in stores.
Maintain distribution records and post-campaign assessments (e.g. reach and feedback).
Campaign Performance & Reporting
Use Excel to consolidate sales results, campaign performance metrics, and store feedback. -
Compile professional PowerPoint presentations for internal review and supplier updates.
Analyse historical campaign results to extract key insights and inform future campaigns.
Customer Feedback & Research
Coordinate monthly customer focus groups in select store towns (logistics, venues, basic agenda, note-taking).
Send and manage monthly customer surveys using WhatsApp, Google Forms, or similar tools.
Compile summaries and recommendations from customer insights for internal use.
CRM & Customer Data Marketing (Future – Focus) .
Assist with CRM — compiling customer lists, segmenting data, maintaiing messaging flows.
Help maintain customer groups for WhatsApp broadcast campaigns.
Work with the Marketing Manager to align CRM activity with promotional calendar.
Internal Communication & File Management
Act as liaison between marketing and stores for campaign rollouts, promotional updates, and POS queries.
Keep marketing folders organised (creative, invoices, campaign briefs, reports).
Ensure internal campaign assets are correctly versioned and easily accessible. Update of internal platforms.
