Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Marketing Coordinator will support the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives within GALXBOY’s fast-paced retail environment. Working closely with the marketing team, store operations, visual merchandising, and external partners.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Campaign & Project Coordination

  • Coordinate and support the rollout of multi-platform marketing campaigns across digital, retail, and social channels.
  • Ensure timely execution of all initiatives to maintain and enhance brand visibility, consistency, and impact across all consumer touchpoints.

Retail & Event Marketing

  • Support the planning and execution of in-store activations, seasonal launches, pop-ups, and brand events.
  • Collaborate with retail teams to align on storytelling, coordinate logistics and marketing materials, and ensure a smooth event flow that enhances customer engagement and brand experience.

Market Research & Reporting

  • Support the collection and analysis of insights through performance reports, post-campaign analysis (PCA), and competitive monitoring. Track cultural trends and consumer behaviour to identify both local and international market opportunities.
  • Deliver timely insight reports, translate data into actionable learnings, and present findings using clear data visualizations to support strategic decision-making.

Team Admin & Support

  • Provide administrative and coordination support by managing team calendars, meeting notes, and project trackers.
  • Maintain shared resources, ensure timely follow-ups (within 24–48 hours), and assist with cross-functional tasks, including coordination with brand partners. Ensure all meeting actions are tracked and completed without delay.

SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Matric certificate compulsory.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing or similar.
  • 3+ years' experience in a marketing role preferably in the retail, fashion, lifestyle, or creative industries.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with tools like Brandwatch, Klayvio, Shopify, and basic creative tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, retail environments, and youth-driven brands.
  • Understanding of customer journey and retail consumer trends to tailor marketing efforts effectively.
  • Strong understanding of retail marketing principles, campaign management, brand positioning, and consumer behaviour.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously, manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge on streetwear and luxury products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and external partner engagement.
  • Eye for visual detail, branding consistency, and content creation including copywriting and basic graphic design knowledge.
