Dalza - Building the Coalition of the Determined
- Location Remote, with a preference for Johannesburg-based candidates
- Type Full-time
- Reports to Operations Manager (weekly), with a dotted line to the founder
What You'll Actually Do
Brand, Content & Copy
- Quality control across the team's output, so everything written, designed or published is consistent and on-brand.
- Copywriting and design across every channel and format.
- Messaging architecture, and adapting messaging for different audience segments.
- Marketing, content and social strategy, and hands-on execution: writing, designing, scheduling and posting.
- Writing articles and SEO content for the site.
Email, Segmentation & Lifecycle
- Email marketing end-to-end: writing, designing, scheduling and sending, across multiple audience segments.
- Mailing list management and segmentation.
- Planning messaging and content timing around varying school calendars.
Website, SEO & Campaigns
- Owning SEO.
- Keeping up with ongoing website maintenance and updates.
- Building and rebuilding webpages.
- Conceptualising and building campaigns from idea through to execution.
- Building campaign landing pages and lead magnet pages.
- Producing all print and digital collateral: decks, one-pagers, presentations, flyers, guides, school-issued parent communications and internal comms.
- Managing translating and localising content into French and German, with final proofing handled by native speakers.
- Supporting onboarding collateral, and in time, onboarding sessions alongside the Relationships and Growth Lead.
- Building outreach infrastructure to support the Relationships and Growth Lead's pipeline.
Product Support (Nice to Have)
- Researching best practice to work effectively with developers on execution.
- Helping translate the founder's product vision into requirements developers can act on.
- UX input on product and content flows.
- Competitor and comparable app research.
- Owning product copy and copy changes, including transactional email copy.
You're a Fit for This If
- You're a strong writer and storyteller: you can hold a consistent voice across email, social, articles and collateral, and you edit your own work as tightly as you write it.
- You're comfortable owning a channel end-to-end: you don't just plan the campaign, you write it, design it, schedule it and send it yourself.
- You think in systems, not just content: segmentation, calendars, and messaging variants make sense to you as a structure, not a scramble.
- You're self-driven and comfortable with ambiguity: this is an early-stage startup, and a lot of the process, from SEO to email architecture, is still being built as you go.
- You're detail-oriented under pressure: across multiple languages, audience segments and school calendars.
- You're curious about product, even if it's not your main job: you don't need to write code, but you're comfortable thinking in specs and UX, and you like understanding how the thing you're marketing actually works.
Previous Experience That Would Be Valuable
- Strong writing and editing background, with an eye for brand consistency across formats
- Solid design skills: able to produce decks, one-pagers, social assets and collateral without a dedicated designer
- Hands-on email marketing experience: platform fluency, segmentation and campaign builds across multiple audience groups
- Working knowledge of SEO, both content and on-page
- Experience owning a website: CMS content, landing pages and ongoing maintenance
- Content and social strategy experience, paired with the discipline to also execute day-to-day
- Experience or interest in working alongside product teams: writing specs, thinking in UX terms, translating between non-technical stakeholders and developers
- Experience with mission-driven, education, health or family-facing brands
