Job description

The Marketing and Communications department are looking for a dynamic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our team. This role will support the Marketing and Communications Manager (MCM) in executing marketing strategies, managing social media accounts, and delivering engaging content to enhance brand visibility and grow our digital presence. This permanent position will be based at our Head Office in Port Elizabeth.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Assist the MCM in planning and executing marketing campaigns, events, and promotions.
  2. Coordinate logistics for grower events, golf days, sponsorships, and other company activities.
  3. Manage inventory of promotional materials and handouts, ensuring timely restocking and distribution.
  4. Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  5. Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to build community engagement.
  6. Stay updated on social media trends and recommend innovative strategies to increase audience engagement.
  7. Assist in creating marketing collateral including flyers, brochures, newsletters, and digital advertisements.
  8. Write, edit, and proofread content for blogs, social media, and website updates.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams to gather content and ideas for campaigns and communications.
  10. Maintain the marketing calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
  11. Assist MCM with internal communications, events, and tasks.
  12. Prepare and send weekly monitoring reports to stakeholders.
  13. Coordinate with external vendors.
  14. Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

Education & Training: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Experience: 1-2 years in a marketing or social media role (entry-level candidates with strong portfolios will also be considered).

Proficiency in social media platforms and tools. Knowledge of bulk mailing software like Mailchimp is advantageous.

Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail. Creative thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.

Driver's license required.
