Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen within the Archive brand of the company for a Marketing Assistant. If you would like the opportunity to join a leading retailer in South Africa and possess the following skills/abilities, then this is the ideal position for you. The purpose of the role will be to support the marketing team in delivering impactful, trend-driven campaigns and in-store experiences that elevate brand visibility and drive customer engagement. This role is essential in coordinating fashion marketing initiatives, supporting seasonal launches, and ensuring seamless execution across all Archive touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Campaigns & Fashion Marketing Coordination

  • Schedule and coordinate seasonal campaign briefings and brand alignment meetings
  • Take detailed minutes and track action items for cross-functional teams
  • Compile post-campaign performance reports with insights on customer engagement and sales uplift
  • Prepare and distribute internal communications (DI) for visual merchandising and store teams
  • Manage digital content schedules for in-store media screens and fashion lookbooks

Store Launches & Retail Activations

  • Assist in briefing creative teams on campaign artwork, window displays, and POS collateral
  • Set up promotional mechanics on the loyalty/rewards platform for new store launches
  • Liaise with artists, DJs, and suppliers for launch day activations and fashion events
  • Support the execution of experiential marketing initiatives, including styling sessions and pop-ups

General Marketing Support

  • Create and manage e-waybills for sample dispatch and promotional materials
  • Coordinate till slip advertising schedules and artwork approvals
  • Schedule and publish content across social media platforms, including DJ Series and influencer collaborations (Saturday support: 2–3 hours)
  • Assist the Senior Trade Marketing Coordinator with seasonal campaigns, fashion events, and in-store activations
  • Provide ad hoc support on trend research, competitor analysis, and campaign planning

Qualifications And Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, Fashion Communication, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of marketing experience, ideally within fashion, lifestyle brands, or FMCG
  • Exposure to in-store marketing, visual merchandising, or brand activations
  • Experience working with fashion campaigns, seasonal launches, or trend-driven promotions
  • Ability to interpret fashion trends and translate them into marketing messaging and visuals

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and retail marketing cycles
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across buying, visual merchandising, and digital teams
  • Skilled in analysing campaign data, drafting compelling messaging, and presenting insights visually and in writing
