Job description

PURPOSE: Reporting to the Marketing Manager & Campaign Manager, the Junior Marketing Assistant is responsible for managing all the daily activities of and providing sound administrative support to the Marketing Department.

Sandton City & Nelson Mandela Square are iconic retail and entertainment destinations known for offering an exceptional shopping and dining experience. We are currently seeking a young, dynamic, passionate, and driven individual to join our Marketing department.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with logistics and implementation of marketing campaigns and events.
  • Coordinate tenant liaison and communications.
  • Manage marketing collateral for Sandton City & Nelson Mandela Square (in-centre and out-of-home).
  • Update and manage marketing databases (tenants, customers, media, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support for reports.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events.
  • Distribute marketing communications and memos.
  • Maintain marketing archives and communication platforms.
  • Manage Sandton City & Nelson Mandela Square websites.
  • Support social media campaigns and content creation.
  • Oversee third-party suppliers of marketing collateral.

EDUCATION

  • Relevant Marketing qualification.

EXPERIENCE

  • Shopping centre experience – advantageous.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of marketing and branding principles.
  • Experience with setting up databases.
  • PR knowledge.
  • Strong social and digital media knowledge.

SKILLS (PERSONAL & INTERPERSONAL)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
