Marketing and Media Coordinator

Work Hours: Given the nature of the work required, work hours will need to be flexible, however roughly equal to 8 hours per workday
Remuneration: Subject to negotiation. Remuneration package commensurate with qualifications, experience, and SANCCOB’s remuneration model.
Travel: Be willing and able to travel for short periods - domestic only
As the Marketing and Media Coordinator, you will need a clear understanding of SANCCOB’s operations and its mission, vision and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for spearheading all media for the organisation. This position is an intermediate-level role, and you will need proven experience in digital and mainstream marketing and media implementation and oversight.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Social Media Strategy, Implementation, and Oversight: Develop, implement, and oversee SANCCOB’s marketing strategy and implementation plan. Manage SANCCOB’s presence on all digital platforms, including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube, to foster stronger community engagement, brand awareness, and growth.
- Social Media Campaign Execution and Performance Tracking: Implement targeted digital marketing campaigns and analyse their effectiveness to optimise future efforts.
- Community Management: Engage with SANCCOB’s online community fostering relationships with supporters, donors, partners, and other audiences, to ensure timely responses and active engagement with SANCCOB’s audience.
- Design Content and Brand Elements: Create visually appealing print and digital content, including social media graphics, brochures, and promotional materials, to enhance brand communication and visibility.
- Filming and Editing Content: Develop and manage a consistent content calendar for our YouTube channel, ensuring that we produce captivating videos that align with our brand identity.
- Website Oversight: Work with outsourced website developers to ensure our website remains up-to-date and reflective of our current offerings and messaging. This role would ensure that our site remains a valuable resource for current and prospective supporters.
- Media Liaison: An important aspect of this role would be serving as our media liaison. The Marketing and Media Coordinator would be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers and ensure that our organisation’s messaging is communicated effectively through press releases, interviews, and media features, helping to boost our reputation and expand our reach.
- Brand Custodianship: Ensure all marketing materials adhere to SANCCOB’s brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent and professional brand image across all platforms, as well as on partners’ platforms.
Qualifications And Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric certificate.
- Degree or equivalent advantageous in any of the following areas: Marketing, Media, Journalism, or similar.
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in marketing, with a proven marketing portfolio.
- Microsoft Office Suite and CANVA or any other design software.
- Advanced writing, reporting and presentation skills.
- Driver’s license and own transport.
- South African citizen or valid work permit.
Required Skills And Experience
- Copywriting experience: Crafting persuasive and engaging copy that resonates with target audiences.
- Digital Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and emerging trends.
- Designing Skills: Proficiency in graphic design tools to create compelling visuals for campaigns, printing and events.
- Filming, Photography, and Editing experience: Ability to capture high-quality photos and videos and edit them for promotional use.
- AI Experience: Understanding and utilising AI tools for content generation, automation, and analytics.
- Trending Knowledge: Staying informed about industry trends and viral content.
- Website Experience: Experience in updating and managing website content to keep information current and engaging, is preferred.
- SEO and Analytics: Experience in implementing search engine optimisation strategies and analysing performance metrics to enhance visibility and engagement, is preferred.
