Market Researcher (Qualitative) - JHB

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Market Research Analyst to conduct surveys and analyze customer preferences and statistical data. Your role will involve providing valuable insights to support customers in their decision-making processes related to product designs, pricing, and promotions.

As a successful Market Research Analyst, you will have the ability to independently analyze qualitative data, identify trends, assess strategies, and evaluate competition, with the ultimate goal of enhancing competitiveness.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and interpreting market research data, generating reports, and presenting findings to stakeholders. We are looking for a self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of market dynamics.

Responsibilities
  1. Collect data on consumers, competitors, and the marketplace; consolidate information into actionable items, reports, and presentations.
  2. Understand business objectives and design surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences.
  3. Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods.
  4. Perform valid and reliable market research and SWOT analysis.
  5. Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations.
  6. Use online market research tools and catalogue findings to databases.
  7. Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing strategies, business models, sales, and methods of operation.
  8. Evaluate program methodology and key data to ensure accuracy and appropriate context in releases.
  9. Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties' research, and implement best practices.
Requirements and Skills
  1. Proven experience in Market Research Analysis.
  2. Ability to interpret large amounts of data and multi-task effectively.
  3. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  4. Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases, and MS Office.
  5. Search engine, web analytics, and business research tools proficiency.
  6. Familiarity with CRM programs.
  7. Knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys, etc.).
  8. Working knowledge of data warehousing, modeling, and mining.
  9. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  10. BSc degree in Statistics, Marketing, or a related field.
