Job summary

Liebherr-Africa (Pty) Ltd in Durban seeks a results-driven Sales Manager for maritime cranes and related equipment. You will identify opportunities, respond to inquiries, and maintain key customer relationships to meet ambitious sales objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Business or equivalent, 4+ years of sales experience, and excellent written and verbal communication. Maritime crane experience and a strong network in the maritime market are highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business.
• 4+ years of sales experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with maritime cranes or related equipment is advantageous.
• Extensive product knowledge of Liebherr equipment and maritime market networks.

Responsibilities

• Sell machines and achieve agreed sales objectives through disciplined opportunity identification, follow-up and conversion.
• Respond professionally and timeously to sales enquiries, maintain regular contact with existing customers and proactively research new markets, customers and business partners.
• Remain up to date with Liebherr product developments, technology improvements and market trends to ensure customers are offered the correct machine and configuration.
• Compile accurate commercial offers and support feasibility studies, tender submissions and technical clarifications with internal departments and Liebherr factories.
• Maintain and expand a relevant network within the maritime industry to support sales planning, forecasting and business development.
• Represent Liebherr with professionalism and sound commercial judgement, recognising customer confidence is influenced by conduct and preparedness.
• Liaise with administration, logistics and Liebherr factories regarding configurations, lead times, pricing, availability, documentation and delivery requirements.
• Provide structured weekly feedback on sales calls, customer activity, market intelligence, pipeline status and sales results.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, brainstorming and departmental improvement initiatives with customer and market insight.
• Prepare and deliver professional presentations to customers and internal stakeholders as required.
