Job description

Role Purpose
Reporting to the General Manager, the purpose of this role is to effectively manage the Marine Terminal Operations with the primary objectives of Safety, Cost Competitiveness, and Operational Discipline.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing Operations into a capable and resilient environment that can adapt to the dynamic fuel industry supply, focusing on safety, reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities / Objectives

  1. Contribute to the development of site business strategy, translating and executing it at the Operations level.
  2. Ensure compliance of Operations with all relevant legislative requirements (e.g., OHS Act, ISO /), industry best practices, and Internal HSSE Policy and procedures.
  3. Manage operational risks by ensuring that all risks are identified, analyzed, and mitigated to ALARP.
  4. Enforce application of continuous improvement processes to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and optimum Operations to achieve agreed targets as defined in site objectives.
  5. Lead operational performance reviews through benchmarking and plant condition monitoring.
  6. Ensure that the Operations assets are maintained through the application of ASSET Management Systems with suitable strategies.
  7. Set clear objectives for all maintenance disciplines to ensure optimum plant performance and availability to achieve the agreed safety, integrity, and reliability targets.
  8. Lead maintenance scope definition, planning, and control of plant/systems outages and major shutdowns to ensure optimum performance.
  9. Ensure longer-term fit-for-purpose of the Operations assets to meet legislative, environmental, and market demands through Master Planning and initiating Project Development Requests to benefit from the latest technical advances.
  10. Approve scope of work, provide economic justification for such projects, and approve drawings for plant changes.
  11. Motivate plant/change items that improve the operation of the plant from a reliability, safety, and output perspective.
  12. Act as a project sponsor when required.
  13. Effectively manage multi-level interfaces and integrations.
  14. Control implementation of change to processing plant.
  15. Carry accountability for Operations staff and manage people's responsibilities through the Operations Leadership Team.
  16. Develop and maintain harmonious relationships with all employees.
  17. Lead all annual financial management activities within Operations.
  18. Act as the Incident Commander during emergency incidents response.

  1. Substantial knowledge of different supporting functions within the organization.
  2. Strategy development and execution.
  3. Change management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Years of Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSc / Beng) with 10 years' experience in the Petrochemicals / Petroleum Products Terminal Industry and a minimum of 5 years management experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Or
BTech in Engineering with 15 years' experience in the Petrochemicals / Petroleum Products Terminal Industry and a minimum of 5 years management experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
An operations experience at a leadership level.
