Job summary

Sea Harvest in Cape Town seeks a Turner Artisan to manufacture, repair and refurbish critical marine components. You will operate lathes, milling and drilling machines, ensuring precision and quality for fishing operations and vessel equipment.

Minimum 3–5 years post-trade experience in marine or engineering environments is required; Red Seal preferred. Grade 12/Matric and safety-conscious approach are essential for this on-site role at our Engineering Workshops.

Qualifications

• Grade Test Certificate as a Turner Artisan (Red Seal preferred).
• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ post-trade experience in a marine, fishing, or engineering environment.
• Experience operating conventional lathes and milling machines.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, repair, maintain and refurbish mechanical components and equipment used in fishing operations, cold storage facilities, and marine vessels.
• Operate conventional and/or CNC lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and grinding equipment; manufacture and repair shafts, bushes, sleeves, bearings, pulleys, couplings, and other components.
• Conduct maintenance and repair work on fish processing equipment and factory machinery; assist with breakdown repairs; refurbish worn components; support planned maintenance activities.
