Position Title: Manufacturing Services Manager

Qualification:Degree or equivalent in Food science/technology or related scientific field.Comprehensive Product and Process knowledge.

Experience: Experience in different factory and / or R&D positions, environments (Centre, Region, Market, expatriation, mission, projects).

  • Production manager experience and,
  • Manufacturing experience in at least 2 of the manufacturing technologies we use in Nestle ESAR e.g. spray drying, confectionary, roller drying, noodle manufacturing etc.

Position Summary

To manage the development and introduction of new products, processes and packaging in a market whilst continually reviewing existing practices to ensure compliance with Nestle standards and seek improvements in manufacturing performance, product quality, cost and renovation of existing products.

A day in the life of a Manufacturing Services Manager:

  • Achieve targets on KPIs agreed with Business and Technical Management of the market or business

To develop Technical and manufacturing solutions for new product opportunities through liaison with the category team, SBU, PTC application groups ,Nestle factories and Third parties.

  • Audit results (local and international). Self-assessment and validation through NSAT. Consistent reduction in incidents.

To lead/participate in project activities and co-ordinate technical expertise within and outside the company to meet category objectives.

  • Successful implementation of key projects delivering targeted objectives.

To continuously improve consumer acceptability (as measured by 60:40+ ) , through application of best practice for Conversion of raw materials and use of packaging within financial viability.

  • Portfolio performance of 60/40 +

To ensure that quality/consumer services data is analysed to provide effective management review and promote Continuous improvement.

  • Number and trend of consumer contacts.

To keep abreast of competitor developments and self-manage enhancement of technical knowledge though

establishment of network contacts both within and outside of Nestle.

Provide timely feedback and coaching to individuals and team in order to develop them to their full potential and to achieve objectives in accordance with NCE guidelines. Ensure succession plans and development - coaching of direct reports (where applicable) including development of specific training.

  • Highly developed ability to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect and open communication.
  • Complete knowledge of Nestle Technical and quality food safety standards and systems.

  • Passed the Leadership in Manufacturing and R&D seminar in Rive-Reine
