Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Plant Supervisor for its Midrand facility. You will oversee daily production, drive efficiency, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead a team and partner with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations. The role requires a track record in manufacturing with at least 5 years experience, including 2 in supervision, and a strong grasp of lean principles and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing or production, with at least 2 in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership to motivate teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing and quality control.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency with manufacturing software and ERP is an advantage.
• Relevant technical qualification in Engineering or Operations Management preferred.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing Plant Supervisor to oversee operations at their facility in Midrand . This pivotal role involves managing daily production activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, adept at motivating teams and driving continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be instrumental in achieving production targets and maintaining a safe, productive workplace, reporting directly to the Plant Manager and collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless workflow and operational excellence across the entire manufacturing division.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
• Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and provide ongoing coaching and employee development opportunities.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely ordering.
• Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to address issues and ensure machinery is operating optimally.
