Job description

Experience : The successful incumbent must possess at least five years of experience in a managerial role within cosmetic manufacturing or a related field.

Requirements : A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (chemistry, chemical engineering, manufacturing, or related). Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems (specifically ISO (GMP for Cosmetics)).

Key Responsibilities :

1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing process for skincare and colour cosmetics, including compounding.
2. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing schedules to meet demand forecasts and delivery deadlines.
3. Formulation Scale-Up : Drive successful formulation scale-up initiatives, ensuring seamless transition of lab-developed formulations to large-scale manufacturing while maintaining product integrity, stability, and performance.
4. Process Optimization : Identify and implement efficient mixing, homogenization, and emulsification techniques for upscaled batches. Establish and monitor key production metrics (e.g., yield, OEE, waste reduction, throughput).
5. Proactively analyze data to identify deviations, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
6. Manage raw material inventory to ensure optimal levels, minimize waste, and prevent stockouts.
7. Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing.
8. Equipment Selection & Validation : Oversee selection, validation, calibration, and utilization of manufacturing equipment such as high-shear mixers, vacuum homogenizers, and water systems.
9. Identify and evaluate new technologies.
10. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to ISO (GMP for Cosmetics) standards throughout manufacturing stages.
11. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving : Address formulation challenges like viscosity shifts and stability concerns.
12. Collaboration : Work with R&D and Production teams to ensure smooth transition from pilot batches to full-scale production.
13. Quality Assurance & Testing : Collaborate with QA to ensure quality control measures, including microbial analysis, environmental monitoring, and product testing.
14. Efficiency & Cost Management : Optimize batch sizes, raw material usage, and processing times. Work with procurement to ensure raw material availability and manage inventory to minimize waste and costs.
