Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Director to lead our national production and operations function within a dynamic precast concrete and paving manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all manufacturing and operational activities to achieve production, quality, safety, and profitability targets.
• Develop and execute operational strategies that improve productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cost optimisation across multiple production facilities.
• Oversee production planning, supply chain collaboration, financial performance, and operational compliance.
• Lead and develop Business Unit and Operations Managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, ISO 9001, OHS legislation, and company governance standards.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and service providers.
• Deliver strategic reporting and operational performance insights to executive leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Production, Operations Management, or a related field.
• MBA, MBL, or Executive Development Programme qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years' manufacturing experience, including 8 years in senior production and operations management.
• Proven experience in the precast concrete, paving, construction materials, or heavy manufacturing sector.
• Strong commercial, financial, and strategic leadership capability.
• Sound knowledge of production planning, supply chain, procurement, continuous improvement, and people management.
• Experience with ERP systems (JDE/SAP advantageous).
• Valid South African driver's licence.
