Job description

Basic Requirements
  • Formal Tertiary education: Qualified Artisan (Tool Maker/Turner Machinist)
  • Experience:
    • 2 - 5 years after qualification within the machining / tool making environment
    • Raw material handling experience
    • Manual lathe machine operation
    • Job planning experience
    • Reading mechanical manufacturing drawings
  • Work accurately and meet deadlines
  • Languages:
    • English - Read, write, and speak (required)
    • Afrikaans - Read, write, and speak (optional)
  • Driver's Licence: Code 8- (required)
Job Objectives
  • The successful incumbent (Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner, Turner Machinist) must be competent in reading mechanical drawings, planning, and completing tasks as per the drawings.
  • Operate manual lathes for manufacturing components.
  • Maintain quality and tolerances as specified, and complete tasks within project timelines.

Preference will be given to employees from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act, No. 55 of 1998.
