Job description

The clientis a global leader in beauty, committed to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality products to customers worldwide. Their distribution operations are critical to ensuring their products reach customers efficiently and effectively. They are seeking a proactive and experienced Mahattan Specialist to join the team in for a 6-12 month contract to support their warehouse operations, leveraging expertise in the Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Key Responsibilities

Operational Coordination and Facilitation

  • Coordinate and align activities across picking, staging, consolidation, loading, and shipping teams to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Monitor overall warehouse performance to identify bottlenecks or delays and take proactive actions to address them.
  • Assist the picking controller in utilizing shipment progress data to unblock shipments nearing completion, ensuring timely dispatch.

Issue Identification and Resolution

  • Investigate and analyze reasons for shipment deselection, allocating issues to relevant teams for resolution.
  • Identify and resolve Material Handling Equipment (MHE) journal failures to maintain operational continuity.
  • Follow up with teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of identified issues.
  • Liaise with transport teams to ensure accurate and timely appointment creation for shipments.

Trend Analysis and Process Improvement

  • Maintain a detailed log of operational issues to identify recurring patterns or trends.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues identified in trend reports to develop actionable solutions.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce recurring issues.

System Expertise

  • Utilize the Manhattan WMS to monitor and manage warehouse operations effectively.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on system data to optimize workflows and improve performance metrics.

  • Manhattan WMS Expertise: Proven experience working with the Manhattan Warehouse Management System, with the ability to leverage its features for operational monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Solution-Oriented Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges.
  • Warehouse Operations Knowledge: In-depth understanding of warehouse processes, including picking, staging, consolidation, loading, and shipping.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in trend analysis, root cause investigation, and developing actionable insights to improve processes.
  • Coordination and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to align cross-functional teams and follow up on issue resolution.
  • Proactivity: Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and take initiative to implement solutions without requiring constant supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years working directly with the Manhattan WMS.
  • Certification or training in Manhattan WMS or related warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
