Purpose of the Role
The Managing Director is responsible for shaping the company’s strategic vision, overseeing operations, and leading a high-performing executive team. You will ensure the company achieves its commercial, operational, and financial objectives while building a resilient, innovative, and values-driven organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and direct all company functions : operations, engineering, finance, sales, procurement, IT, and HR.
Develop and implement business strategies aligned with long-term goals and shareholder value creation.
Set performance objectives and oversee senior leadership team performance and development.
Take full accountability for profit & loss, operational efficiency, and shareholder returns.
Oversee the annual budgeting process and ensure financial sustainability.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial health to support operational agility.
Maintain strong, transparent communication with the Board of Directors.
Review and optimize organizational structure, workflows, and resource deployment.
Guide the company through change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cultivate a high-performance culture rooted in trust, integrity, and accountability.
Drive marketing strategies and capitalize on new business development and investment opportunities.
Manage enterprise risk and ensure regulatory, financial, and environmental compliance.
Represent the company in government, industry, and high-level customer engagements.
Oversee statutory reporting and uphold corporate governance and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Management.
15+ years of progressive experience in a relevant industrial or engineering-based business.
Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or C-suite role, with P&L accountability.
Strategic foresight with strong execution capability.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
Deep commercial and operational acumen.
Advanced negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong knowledge of financial planning, risk management, and business development.
