A prominent company in the mining, aggregates, and agricultural sectors is currently seeking a highly motivated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior financial professional to take ownership of financial strategy, planning, and leadership within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors, the CFO will play a critical role in driving financial direction and ensuring the company's financial health and growth.

Duties:

1. Develop and execute the company's financial strategy to align with long-term business objectives.
2. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board based on detailed financial analysis and forecasting.
3. Drive sustainable growth through cost optimization initiatives and revenue enhancement strategies.
4. Oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets, long-term financial plans, and cash flow management.
5. Ensure robust financial modeling, scenario planning, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency.
6. Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance.
7. Coordinate external audits and maintain transparent financial reporting.
8. Lead risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and ensure adequate insurance coverage.
9. Analyze financial performance metrics and collaborate with operations teams to improve financial outcomes.
10. Secure funding for capital-intensive mining projects through debt, equity, or partnerships.
11. Evaluate investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, to support business expansion.
12. Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the Board, investors, and stakeholders.
13. Build and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and regulatory authorities.
14. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performing culture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. A Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
2. A Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
3. At least 5 years of senior financial management experience, with a proven track record in managing complex projects.
4. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
5. In-depth understanding of cost accounting principles and project financing.
6. Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
7. Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse teams.
8. High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and commitment to corporate social responsibility.
9. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
10. Fluency in Afrikaans and English is required.
11. Willingness to travel to mining sites as necessary.
