Approval of SACAA curriculum and syllabus, approval of training material and approval and certification ofFSTDs.Practical Training Oversight SystemDevelop and manage a system to oversee the practical standards of all aviation personnel licensed under Parts 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 69, 71,72 and of the CAR and to ensure this complies with ICAO and international best practice.Ensure the oversight of designated examiners and instructors involved with practical / training of aviation personnel.Training Standards DevelopmentDevelop, review, and implement practical training standards for aviation personnel license holdersEnsure that the developed standards comply with ICAO and meet the company objectives.CATS and CAR DevelopmentDevelop, implement, and review applicable CATS and CAR to ensure that the practical training standards are up to date.Manage any CAR and CATS amendments relating to the practical / training of aviation personnel.Management of Direct ReportsManage key performance areas of directly reporting personnel to ensure the achievement of their agreed objectives.Mentor and monitor employees to fulfil their responsibilities within regulated standards and timeframesDevelop a culture of high performance that demonstrates SACAA core values and competenciesFacilitate skills development to ensure retention of staffLiaise with industry and record problem-solving solutions and convey knowledge to the industry to allow for the improvement of standards.Manage the participation of the industry in the development of practical examination / testing / training standards aManage the participation of the industry in the development of the oversight systemPortray a professional and positive image of the CAA.RequirementsEDUCATIONMINIMUMNQF Level 6 Diploma in Management or Business Administration or Engineering.
Plus, CPL or ATPL or Air Traffic Controller License or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Appropriate SAAF Pilot with Category B Instructor rating.IDEALNQF Level 7 Qualification plus relevant aviation license as per above with instructor ratingEXPERIENCE4-7 Years experience in a Civil Aviation Environment OR2-3 years Supervisory or Authorised Officer Experience in an Aviation Environment
