Purpose of Role: The Tech Facilitator Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technical teams, production staff, and project stakeholders. This role ensures the seamless execution of technical initiatives within a fast-paced machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background and a passion for driving innovation, efficiency, and collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination & Resource Management: Oversee and coordinate technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Assist in planning and allocating technical resources, including personnel, tools, and materials, to meet production demands.
  • Technology Implementation & Training: Support the rollout of new technologies, tools, and processes on the shop floor, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum adoption. Provide hands-on training and technical support to production staff on new equipment, software, and procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Communication & Compliance: Act as a liaison between engineering, production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on project goals and execution. Ensure all technical activities comply with company safety policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
  • Process Improvement & Continuous Development: Identify opportunities for process optimization and assist in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions. Adhere to safety and housekeeping as per company procedures and OHS Act requirements including its associated regulations.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Education & Certifications: A relevant bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma, along with technical certifications or training in machining, manufacturing technology, or engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in a machining or manufacturing environment (CNC, manual machining, etc.), with a strong understanding of production workflows, tooling, and technical documentation.
  • Technical & Process Knowledge: Experience with ERP/MRP systems and digital manufacturing tools, knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies, and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies as an added advantage.
  • Training, Safety & Leadership: Ability to train and mentor team members on technical systems and processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
