Job description

At Digby Wells Environmental, we are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our colleagues, clients, the communities we engage with, and the environment. We seek a Manager, Social Sciences who will be responsible for managing and developing the Social Sciences team and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

Requirements

  • Provide strategic growth and direction for the department.
  • Effectively manage and review projects using the organisation’s methodology and principles, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet our quality standards.
  • Act as a key accounts manager for designated clients through regular meetings, networking, and fulfilling a project sponsor role.
  • Provide project reporting and analytics to relevant stakeholders on the department’s progress.
  • Manage the department’s operations financially, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Manage people effectively, including development, recruitment, coaching, mentoring, disciplining, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Grow our market share through upselling and cross-selling the organisation’s services to new and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage workload schedules for the department to ensure effective workforce planning.
  • Research new technological and legal developments and trends, and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development, growth, and technical output of the Social Sciences Services department.
  • Provide specialist studies that integrate into the ESIA process as well as standalone specialist products.
  • Carry out fieldwork under strenuous conditions.
New Business Development
  • Develop a business plan for the department, including services and selling opportunities.
  • Act as a key account manager where required, identifying business opportunities and maintaining a client-centric approach.
  • Identify leads within the department, organize, plan, and track proposals in response.
  • Coordinate and submit proposals.
  • Conduct legal audits regarding relevant legislation.
  • Compile and write reports for submission to clients and authorities.
  • Participate actively in business development and marketing activities.
