Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a skilled Software Engineering Application Developer proficient in COBOL programming language on the IBM Mainframe to design, build, and configure applications aligned with business processes and application requirements.

Expertise in C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements using COBOL on the IBM Mainframe.
  2. Develop innovative solutions to align with business needs ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize applications.
  4. Perform troubleshooting and debugging activities to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
  5. Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Design and Build Enablement.
  6. Contribute to Build Management, Configuration, and Release Management processes.
  7. Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance application development capabilities.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in application development and maintenance with a focus on COBOL programming and IBM Mainframe systems.
  3. Expertise in COBOL programming with experience on IBM Mainframe systems.
  4. Knowledge of C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is an advantage.
  5. Strong proficiency in Design and Build Enablement, Build Management, and Configuration and Release Management.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
  7. Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and discussions.
