Job summary

Toyota South Africa Motors is seeking a proactive Manager Safety and Ergonomics in Johannesburg to lead the environmental and safety management programs. The role focuses on ensuring ISO14001 compliance, managing the EMS, and coordinating audits across internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years in environmental management and H&S, with supervisory experience and strong knowledge of environmental laws and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental management and H&S.
• Sound understanding of environmental legal requirements and developments.
• Thorough understanding and hands on implementation and auditing experience on ISO 14001 in a corporate environment.
• Experience in people and project management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of TSAM-EMS against ISO14001 EMS Standard.
• Manage Environmental Section of TSAM SHE&F Sharepoint site.
• Develop/Establish new environmentally related Management Systems as required with PIC (e.g. ISO50001 Energy Management System).
• Coordinate internal and external EMS Audits.
• Support ECO Patrol Audits as required.
• Monitor Significant Environmental Process Area Management compliance.
• Legal compliance and OSHMS audits.
• Performance Reporting (ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY).
• OSHMS implementation & maintenance.
• Promote and guide on safety culture establishment & improvement.
• Contractor safety.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• NQF 7 in environmental sciences or engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental management, and H&S
• Management in supervisory capacity (essential).
• Sound understanding of environmental legal requirements and developments.
• Sound understanding of OHS Act & regulations
• Thorough understanding and hands on implementation and auditing experience on ISO 14001 and Environmental Management Systems in a corporate environment.
• Experience in people and project management.
• Sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
