Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking to appoint a senior investigations leader to oversee the Group’s investigation function, Tip Offs Anonymous, and related reporting. The role supports the EVP in managing investigations, disclosures, anonymous reporting, and Board reporting, while driving risk mitigation and policy compliance across Protection Services.

The ideal candidate has extensive leadership in investigations, strong collaboration with SAPS and NPA, and a track record of strengthening

Qualifications

• NQF 7 degree or national diploma in policing, security management, forensic investigation or related field.
• At least 10 years of general, priority and commercial investigations experience, with 5 years in a management role.
• Occupational and regulatory registration (e.g., PSIRA).
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Clean security screening record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Unit Management and standardisation of investigative principles across the Group.
• Consolidate investigative outcomes to strengthen control environments via policies and SOPs.
• Develop relationships with law enforcement, prosecuting agencies, and private entities to address syndicated crime.
• Lead and manage the Syndicated Metals Theft Units.
• Support the EVP and Group Head Protection Services in related Group functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Unit Management
• Ensure the standardisation and maintain a uniform approach and application of investigative principles across the Group.
• Consolidate investigative outcomes into strengthening Group control environments by way of policy directives, minimum security standards, standard operating procedures, risk mitigation initiatives, etc.
• Develop and maintain active relationships with law enforcement agencies, prosecuting agencies, and private entities towards addressing syndicated criminal activities.
• Effectively manage and lead the Syndicated Metals Theft Units.
• Support the office of the EVP and Group Head Protection Services in the execution of Group related functions (responsible sourcing, anti-money laundering, ESG initiatives).
• Manage and maintain the Group’s anonymous reporting platforms, including the directing of TOA related cases for investigation and completion within the Group’s operating segments. Administration
• Oversee and control quality over client reports, including close out reports, COO reports, and Board committee reports.
• Oversee and provide diligence over informer registration, administration, and rewards.
• Oversee and control Public Private Partnership’s projects obo Sibanye-Stillwater.
• Administer the Group TOA platform. Stakeholder Relations
• Facilitate and manage relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally (incl. SAPS, NPA and security departments at other mining houses) at all levels and cross-functionally.
• Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders (incl. all Protection Services Segments and external parties. Building a values-based organisational culture
• Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
• SHE Compliance
• Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
• Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.

• Maintain the appropriate records and documents required by law and good business practice principals.

• Design the specific department’s discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.
• Review and approve labour plans around operational targets. Performance Management:
• Provide leadership and inspire team members towards high performance.
• Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
• Set the specific department’s discipline performance targets and criteria that align with organisational goals for the team. Employee Relations:
• Drive the Organisational Culture and Climate within the Business Unit to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:
• Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Operation to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and safety.
• Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.
• Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.
• Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. Transformation & Sustainability:

Additional Requirements

• Have a Grade A registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority or the ability to obtain one within 3 months.

Job Purpose

• To provide oversight on the Group’s investigation function, including Tip Offs Anonymous, and assisting the Group EVP in managing to conclusion all matters pertaining to investigations, protected disclosures, anonymous reporting, committee and Board reporting.
